My 7x7

Bookworm tagged me. Damn it! Here is my 7X7... or at least the start of it. I will need a couple of days to think about some of these items.
  1. Seven things to do before I die
  2. Seven things I cannot do
  3. Seven things that attract me to (...)
  4. Seven things I say most often
  5. Seven books (or series) that I love
  6. Seven movies I watch over and over again (or would if I had time)
  7. Seven people I want to join in, too.
Seven things to do before I die
  • Visit the Antartic and step foot on the actual continent... not just ice.
  • Visit Machi Picchu.
  • Get a tattoo.
  • Drop acid.
  • Sail around Cape Horn and Tierra del Fuego islands.
Seven things I cannot do
  • Cook!
  • Become the principal staff photographer for Playboy (they keep rejecting my resume!).
  • Get a tattoo.
  • Raise a plant.
  • Save money.
  • Tell my dad how much I appreciate all he did for me, and for everyone.
Seven things that attract me to (...)

my ex-wife Claire:
  • Her dark and wicked sense of humor.
  • Her love of books.
  • That fact that she understood me, or at least better than anyone ever has.
  • Her love of misfits and animals.
  • Her beautiful, soft, long, chestnut hair.
  • Her voice and speech... so clear and perfect and articulate.
  • How she should curl up next to me and let me stoke her hair while we watched movies on TV.
Seven things I say most often
  • "I've never felt better since I've given up hope"
  • "Lets go get a coffee"
  • "Let me tell you how I feel about....(whatever the subject)"
  • "Is dinner ready yet?
Seven books (or series) that I love
Seven movies I watch over and over again (or would if I had time)
Seven people I want to join in, too.

Well, no surprises here, Ron: you're just as interesting as I thought you'd be -- even though you don't have any tattoos. (I'll let you in on a secret here. Neither do I.) Hope that you enjoyed a lovely Christmas weekend. Take care.

What does "tagged" mean?

Tagged... like the game of tag. I was tagged, and now I am "it". I was tagged by Bookworm. If you go to her site, you will see where she asked me to answer my 7x7 questions.

From Christine:

Seven things to do before I die:
• See my children grow to become healthy, happy, intelligent and compassionate adults, surrounded by people who love them
• Hold my grandchild(ren)
• See myself & my family graduate from college
• Drive cross-country, but only on the blue highways
• Spend time in Europe with Jason
• Volunteer full-time for a cause I believe in strongly
• Spend a little more time in Montana getting to know my dying father--maybe even getting some insight into what made him tick

Seven things I cannot do:
• Swim the length of a swimming pool
• Spell “guard” right the first time
• Stop biting my nails
• Be away from my children on Christmas morning
• Read something by Augusten Burroughs or David Sedaris without laughing out loud
• Think about the sacrifices my family has made without crying
• Stay angry with Jason

Seven things that attract me to Jason:
• His eyes, and how they twinkle when he is teasing me
• His hair and the way it falls across the pillow when he is sleeping
• That he’s not afraid to dance with me on a random street corner
• That we can go anywhere, from a barroom to a boardroom, and he will come in as a stranger but leave as a friend
• That he never stops making me laugh
• That he is WICKED sexy
• That he loves my children like his own

Seven things I say most often:
• It’s better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it (Thanks, Mom!)
• You’ll thank me for this when you’re older…
• Be nice.
• What?
• I love you.
• What a fucktard!
• Don’t do anything you don’t want to see printed in tomorrow’s paper!

Seven books (or series) that I love
• Magical Thinking by Augusten Burroughs
• Blue Highways by William Least Heat Moon
• The Fool’s Progress by Edward Abbey
• Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris
• Monsters and Other Lovers by Lisa Glatt
• The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby
• Hiroshima by John Hersey

7 movies I watch over and over again (or would if I had time):
• Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
• Big Fish
• The Shawshank Redemption
• Short Cuts
• The Seven Samurai
• The Purple Rose of Cairo
• Sunset Boulevard

Seven people I want to join in, too:
• Jason
• My Mom & Dad
• My three kids, though I am cheating by counting them as one
• My brother, Ron, for his odd, yet insightful, perspective
• My friend, Rod, for his knowledge of obscure crime and music trivia
• My friend, Kimmy, to remind me not to take any shit
• My friend, Cindy, to keep the energy up
